Multimedia creation, publishing and sharing is increasing at an exponential rate. The total number of people who use YouTube is over 1.3 Billion, and 300 hours of video are uploaded to YouTube every minute. Almost 5 billion videos are watched on Youtube every single day from over 30 million visitors, and 80% of YouTube’s views are from outside of the U.S. There are many other online video sources, many of which contain information that is useful to our military and intelligence organizations. The most useful attributes used to search these videos of interest are not found on the source online sites.

In this talk, we will discuss a Government off the shelf multimedia processing system that is currently used operationally at several sites to process diversified content from online video sites as well as collected data. The system’s architecture, plug-in and play ability, audio, text, language, image and video analytics will all be discussed. A demonstration will be given showing how the system is used to process videos from major world incidents. Although the attributes needed to search the content are not available in the online video repository, the use of the system and its analytics allows organizations to rapidly discover videos of interest.
